An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. This law is oftencalled. "the law of inertia".

Hello Mate!

Galileo through his experiment of inclined plane brought comcept of law if inertia.

He stated that that when he roled out ball from curvature then the ball will comed back to its position. Thorugh this he said that if he makes one end completely flat then ball will keep on moving until someone stops it. However, this law was in raw form and needed moderation.

In future, Issac Newton moderated Galelio's law and said that :-

"If object is at rest then will remain at rest or if is in leniar motion then will remain in motion until and unless an external force is applied."

Thus he named his law "Newton's First Law of Motion". But the origin of newton's first law was "Galileo's Concept of Inertia" and hence is called law of inertia.

Have great future ahead!
