The fishermen cannot do fishing throughout the year.Sometimes during heavy rainfall near the sea fishermen are not allowed to enter the sea in order to prevent mishaps.However selling fish is their only means of livelihood.hence at these times they can sell dried fish.dried fish is also used to make a variety of dishes.the fishes are therefore dried in the sun to prevent moisture in it.moisture can spoil the fish.while drying salt is also sprinkled on the fish as a preservative.hence  fishermen dry fishes in sun
