A flame is a hot glowing body of ignited gas that is generated by something burning. This definition explains it all.Flames or fire are merely caused by the burning of gases  and therefore can cast a shadow only in the presence of another source of light, which is much brighter than the former.

himanshu204: then why smoke has shadow
raghurajmuni: smoke is made up of big particle and more over is not a burning particle, its a burnt particle
himanshu204: thanks
raghurajmuni: mark as best buddy

Anonymous: Becoz fire is a source of light but smoke is not, so smoke block the light & make the shadow, while the fire does not
