Why flame of the candle points upward,if gravitational force is downward?

When you light the candle, heat,light, carbon dioxide , etc are released. The heat energy released heats the surrounding air. The hot air surrounding the flame rises up and the cool, heavier air rushes to fill the gap around the flame. Again the air heats up and rises, again the cool air rushes to fill the gap and so on this process goes on.This continuous process accelerates the hot air causing the flame to point upward. Just like water pushes a log of wood upwards (buoyant  force) similarly the hot air rushes upwards and causes flickering of fire too.

The heated air is less dense than the surrounding cooler air, and so the cooler air "squeezes out" the hot air, which moves upward. As the hot air moves upward, so does some of the still-burning material, resulting in a flame that flickers upward, away from gravity.
