why flower plants like sunflowerdo not produce fruits ?

Answer:

Poor or no fruiting may occur in flowering plants due to many reasons. In citrus, brinjal or tomato flowers fall off prematurely and no fruits may develop. This is due to development of abscission layer and prmature flower drop. Spray of auxin hormone can reverse this effect and result in robust fruiting.
