why Fluoride ion has higher hydration enthalpy than chloride ion? ​

Explanation:

because flouride is more electronegative element. it make strong hydrogen bonds, it has valency 1, and it's atom is smaller than, chloride ion, so it is very hard to remove an electon from it's atom

Flouride ion is smaller in size than chloride ion. Hence,when the two are dissolved in water, the energy of hydration released in the case of flouride ion will be more than chloride ion due to stronger interaction between the ion and the water molecules in the former
