Explanation:

Potato chips packets are filled with air but with NITROGEN GAS.This is done to prevent Oxidising which ultimately results in stale .Oxygen is a very reactive gas and it's molecules react with air, moisture and result in staling of food .Since nitrogen is less reactive than oxygen hence the packets are filled with NITROGEN gas .

If normal air is present in the packet, the oxygen will react with the food which makes it unhealthy....

So, to increase the life of food....
