Why for checking whether the fraction is terminating or non terminating only 2 and 5 powers are checked?

Because when ever we divide a number by 2,5 or factors of 2 and 5 together

then we find that the result is Rational number

Ex.

1. 4/5 = 0.8 = 8/10
2. 5/10 = 0.5 = 1/2

So that is the required to check whether the denominator is factor of 2 , 5 or both 2 and 5 to tell whether the fraction is rational or irrational
