Because all the production is from forests, to destroy them first enemies used to fire and attack on forests

1). During the first and second world war the forest department cut trees freely to meet British war needs.

2). Forests are as important resource and hence during wars they are destroyed by their country under the scorched earth policy.

3). And therefore by some of these reasons forests were affected by wars.
