Electric Fuse :
Electric fuse is provided in an electric circuit to prevent the expensive electric items like refrigerator , washing machine , etc . catch fire and thus protects the house from fire caused due to short circuits .
Electric fuse has a wire that is made up of alloy of tin and lead having characteristic properties of high resistance and low melting point .
When the current exceeds its normal value , the fuse wire melts breaking the circuit . Hence the path of current is interrupted and our devices are saved from damage . This wire can be changed again .
The ranges of electric fuse available are 30 A , 60A , 100 A , 200 A , 400 A , 600 A and 800 A .
