why fuse of considerable rating is chosen instead of higher rating?

fuse is taken a protecting device when exess current passes to the device .
if we are taking higher rating fuse the fuse will not break when exess current passes throug it
therefore our device will get damaged
so to protect our devices we want to take a fuse rate of considerable amount

Low breaking capacity, so cannot be used in circuits with higher fault current levels. The fuse element is subjected to deterioration by oxidation through the continuous heating up of the element. This reduces the current rating of the fuse. Thus the fuse operates at a current lower than the rated value.
