Fuse is an electrical safety device which prevents the damage of our electrical appliances

It is a metal wire which is placed in the beginning of lines entering into our home

When the excess current above the limit that is 20amperes is brought into your houses then it may cause damage to our electrical appliances

To prevent this fuse is used

It gets melt when the excess of Current is passed and the circuit becomes open due to which the excess current doesn’t enter our houses...

A fuse is nothing more than a short length of wire designed to melt and separate in the event of excessive current. Fuses are always connected in series with the component(s) to be protected from overcurrent, so that when the fuse blows (opens) it will open the entire circuit and stop current through the component(s)
