why G2 is absent in meiosis​

  • As we know, meiosis takes place in two successive divisions.
  • First is the reduction/division and the other is mitotic division. As the reduction division (Meiosis 1) progress the cell has undergone into G_{1}.S_{1} & G_{2} phase.
  • Meaning, the cell has duplicated its chromosome, organelle and other enzymes or protein so in the mitotic division (Meiosis-2) cell does not require it.
