Gandhiji used salt as a weapon because that's when the British introduced the tax on salt so to sympathize and gain peoples interest he took the issue everyone was opposing because salt is something that every citizen should be given right to and introducing a tax on salt made people angry .So Gandhiji found a popular problem so that people would support him more to oppose the Britishers.In order to attract peoples attention he chose salt as weapon.
