The Non-copperation movement starred by Gandhi ji was stopped or withdrawened by him himself because of the following reasons :
1. He get known that this movement has taken violent forms in many part of the country, which is against the policy of this movement.
2. He was also willing to teach the satygarahis about the way to protest, so in order to give them the classes of such teaching, he withdrwaned the movement.

Thousands of people especially students, teachers, lawyers ,peasents, tribals, workers etc participated in non cooperation movement.Gandhi jee wanted the movement to be peaceful and free from violence. The British government used all measures to crash the movement. Leaders were arrested within two months, nearly 30 thousand peoples wre imprisoned. This led to violence in some parts of country.
Mob violence took place at Chauri Chaura, a village in the Gorakhpur district of uttar pradesh .The aginatists set the police station on fire. Gandhi g was unhappy with this incident and decided to withdraw the Non cooperation Movement.
