The nation is set to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, starting from August 25. A 10-day Hindu festival, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in honor of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s younger son Lord Ganesha who is known by 108 different names. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in different parts of India. As per the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar, this year Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will start on August 25 and end on September 5. Ganeshotsav or Vinayaka Chaturthi ends on the tenth day of bringing him home signifying his return to Mount Kailasha to his parents Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.
