THIS IS BECAUSE SOLIDS AND LIQUIDS ARE DENSER THAN GAS AND THE MORE THE DENSITY OF MEDIUM, THE MORE THE SPEED OF SOUND.
OR
THE PARTICLES ARE COMPACTLY PACKED IN SOLIDS AND LIQUIDS AS COMPARED TO GAS ES SO THE PARTICLE CARRYING SOUND WILL HIT THE NEXT PARTICLE QUICKER IN DENSER MEDIUMS AND IN GASES THE PARTICLES ARE LOOSELY PACKED DUE TO WHICH THE SOUND CARRYING PARTICLE TAKES MORE TIME TOHIT THE NEXT PARTICLE ,THUS DECREASING THE SPEED OF SOUND IN GASES .
HOPE THIS HELPS
