There is no space between the individual particles, so they cannot pack together. The kinetic-molecular theory explains why gases are more compressible than either liquids or solids. Gases are compressible because most of the volume of a gas is composed of the large amounts of empty space between the gas particles.

Answer :

Gases are compressible but liquids are not compressible because the particles of the gases are very loosely packed where as the particles are also loosely packed but not enough that of the gases. Gases also doesn't have any shape also liquid doesn't have shape but if we put the liquid in any container it will take shape of that container whereas gas does not.
