Gases are easily compressible when compared to solids and even liquids. Because, the atoms and molecules present in gas are located randomly and there is enough empty space between each atom & molecule.

Scientifically can say, gases have more inter-molecular space than that of solids. Thus, you can compress the gas in a container till their inter-molecular space becomes very less and is very compressible.

Gases are more compressible as compared to solids because their gas particles have a lot of empty space between them. At normal temperature and pressure, the average distance between these molecules is around ten times the diameter of a gas molecule.

When gases are compressed, they have various uses. One example is the use of compressed oxygen in hospitals to help people with breathing problems.
