Why gasses are compressible but not liquids?

The atoms, ions, or molecules that make up the solid or liquid are very close together. There is no space between the individual particles, so they cannot pack together. The kinetic-molecular theory explainswhy gases are more compressiblethan either liquids or solids.

because gases have very high imf which is the intermolecular spaces whereas liquids does not have that much high imf
