Spreading of Pteridophytes are limited and restricted to narrow geographical regions because they don’t have stomata in leaves and they don’t have vascular tissue present.
Vascular tissues have Xylem and Phloem tissues which release spores, not seeds.
So spreading is restricted because their gametophytes require colder environment to grow and water for proper fertilization.
