why germinating seed is used during experiment showing co2 is given out during respiration and if we use boiled seeds what happen

When we boil the seeds they are considered to be dead...The rise in the level of water indicates that CO2 is produced by germinating seeds during respiration. Actually, the germinating seeds respire and produce CO2, which is absorbed by KOH solution.
