Gold and silver are found in free state because metals like platinum,gold and silver are noble metals,they do not easily mix with impurities such as silica,potassium etc. And even if they do mix it can be easily separated by adding a acid to it. Hence, these metals are present in free state.

1) Gold and silver are less reactive metals so they are found in free state in nature but iron is reactive in comparison to gold and silver, thus it is nor found in free state. ... Silver comes below iron in the reactivity series.It is less reactive than iron. Therefore, it cannot displace iron from its salt solution.
