Noble metals are metallic elements that show outstanding resistance to chemical attack like acids even at high temperatures. However, it can be dissolved by aqua regia (kingly water)Aqua regia is latin word used for 'royal water' and is a mixture of HNO3 and HCl optimally in a molal ratio 1:3. It can dissolve gold (noble metal) because the gold react only with the concentrated acid mixture.
