“Greenland, the icy island nation in the Arctic, gets its name from an Icelandic murderer exiled there, who called it "Greenland" in hopes that the name would attract settlers. But it turns out that long ago, Greenland was actually quite green.

shubhamkumarnawadih: no thanks ans. is wrong
amanpandey1729: Because the question is illogical. Maybe the explaination is same as why dead sea is not dead or black sea is not black.
Swabha: ya
shubhamkumarnawadih: ya meaning

hey mate here is your answer ^_^

Greenland is a land in top of Canada it's like a island.

It's is called Greenland but it isn't green it's white because green land is little near of North pole

As Sunlight fall direct on earth the sunrays fall on the side in which the earth is facing the sun the others sunrays go upside and downside.

As earth had magnetic poles from its birth this magnetic pole joint to north pole and South pole which are called poles in english.

As in top there is joint. So the sunrays fall on there but not directly slightly.

So the north pole get cold as it not get much sunrays which can melt a ice.

As Greenland is near north pole the Greenland get cold and full up with ice and this it become cold and it show white from space.

hope it help
