Why growth and reproduction can not be taken as defining properties of all living organisms

Because many non living things also have growth and also produce the same thing .
As a mountain is grow.

growth can be seen in non living organisms also
ex:- rocks and boulders are also grown due to accumulation of dust ..

in reproduction as many bees and sterile couples..etc can't have their next generations but exhibit other living characteristics ...

hence both can't be taken as defining features of living organisms
