because HNO3 is a strong oxidising agent..
When metal reacts with HNO3 :
3Zn + 7HNO3 -->Zn(NO3)2 + NH2OH + 2H2O2
When metal reacts with HNO3 :
3Zn + 7HNO3 -->Zn(NO3)2 + NH2OH + 2H2O2
