Why had the tiger turned to eating of small animal?

The tiger could no longer run on long trails in forests as per its natural instincts to prey and hunt animals to feed itself.

Hence, it resorted to village domestic animals like goat to satisfy its limited appetite and feed itself. The tiger also was so weak and scared that it died finally upon hearing the gun shot that killed the goat and by a direct hit.
