Haemoglobin contains hemes.These hemes have iron in them and as heamoglobin carries oxygen, the interaction b/w oxygen and iron gives it red colour.

haemoglobin contains iron in the haemes and as u know the presence of iron gives a substance reddish texture...{if u want to see the how iron gives red colour texture u should get a look of beet root's juice}
