Why hard water is not suitable for dyeing and photography?

Explanation:

Hard water contains calcium and magnesium ions and these can bind the dyes (precipitates dyes as their salts). The dye therefore is not available for dyeing the fabric. Therefore, hard water is not suitable for dyeing.
