this meridian passes through allahabad in up which is considered as the middle zone of india and thus it has been selected as the standard meridian of india

82 degree 30 east has been selected as the Standard meridian of India because it is situated in the centre of all lattitudes and longitude in which our country is located and it also divided in two parts
