Domestic violence has always been part of society because it is essential. This is because all order is founded on violence, so all domestic order must be founded on violence, which includes the threat of violence. (see The Community's Need for Violence ). Popular concern is probably inspired by the increasing homicidal nature of domestic violence, which has always been proscribed as murder, and is evidence of the violent chaos permeating the whole of society, which accompanies social collapse. see
