Answer:

Since the tenth century, this place has been commemorating warriors and all the devout Jains who have chosen to fast to death (sallekhanā) at this holy place. The story of Shravanabelagola is centered on Bahubali- the second of the nine sons of Adinath- the first Tirthankars of the Jains.

The statue of Gomateswara which is situated at Shravana Belgola in Karnataka is know for it's huge height (about 70 feet.) and grandeur,so that's why this place has become an important Jain pilgrimage site

According to ICSE

Apart from its architectural and historical significance, this site is considered to be one of the most sacred places for the Digambara Jains, where pilgrims come from far and wide to pay homage to the two most important figures of Jainism- Acharya Bhadrabahu and Emperor Chandragupta Maurya.
