=> Actually, since the Hindi was the largest spoken language at the time of adoption of constitution, and drew its vocabulary primarily from Sanskrit, the Indian constitution adopted in 1950 envisaged that Hindi be used along with English for all communications of the Federal Government of India. English was to lose the status by 1965.

the Indian government has not imposed any particular language for the whole nation because once India got independence for the British the Indian government decided to make Hindi as the common language in India but this was not accepted by all the people in India especially in the southern part of the country so the government in order to avoid an another dispute in the country did not impose any specific language in the country India.
