CFC's or chlorofluorocarbons are known to destroy the ozone layer.
CFC's properties like insoluble in water, have a low boiling point and they unreactive were very much useful in the past and they were used in Refrigerants ,aerosol cans  etc.

CFC's damage ozone in the ozone layer when they escape into atmosphere .
This causes more ultraviolet radiation on earth which is a great threat human life. like can effect the lungs, Central nervous system, heart ,kidney ,exposure to more uv rays can lead to skin cancer and eye damage.hence CFc's were banned.
Nowadays CFC's were replaced by hydroflurocarbons which do not damage ozone layer.

CFC's tend to destroy the ozone layer. Ozone layer prevents the UV rays from entering the earth's atmosphere. And when the ozone layer disappears it causes problems like global warming so the use of CFC's has been banned.
CFC is present in refrigerators, air conditioners.
