the time of its place depends on its longitude that passes through it.therefore the standard time for each country is usually taken as a time of central meridian that passes through it......,thus we need a standard meridian for the country

2. 82 degree 30'E has been selected as the standard meridian of India because it is situated in the centre of all longitudes and latitudes in which our country is located.
3. In every time zone the local time of middle longitude (divisible by 7 degree 30') is adapted as the standard meridian.
