These are called the deciduos because they shed leaves for about six to eight weaks in summer in the face water shortage.

These are found in the North - eastern part of the peninsula around chhota Nagpur plateau covering East Madhya Pradesh , south Bihar and west odisha. These are also common in the shiwalik ranges.
