Plunging means dropping suddenly or having a shape that drops a long way down.
It is also associated with a deep curve at the neck in a women’s dress. when you notice the footprint of a horse hoof it also drops suddenly at the center deeply.
hoof is a very important part as it carries the whole weight of the horse.
