Why have the lines-'for men may come,men may go,but i go on forever',been repeated in the poem several times?what is the significance of these lines?

The lines .... a man may come a men may go but i go on forever. ... has been repeated several times to create more effect on the reader's mind . Its significance is that .... the brook is perennial but a man is mortal .... it means that the nature can outllive a man's life .
