HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

The gas is extremely soluble in water (up to 700 litres per litre of water at ambient conditions) giving an aqueous solution known as hydrochloric acid. It is also readily soluble in polar organic solvents like methanol, ethanol or acetic acid.
