why heart of frog continue to beat for sometime when taken out

The vertebrates process myogenic heart which is self contractile system or autoexcitable; it will thus keep working outside the body for some time.

Also, Unlike most muscles, the heart has an internal electrical signal rather than receiving a signal from the brain. Also, the heart has nerves that have chemical energy in the form of ATP. So even without a brain, there's current and energy to power movement.

This is the reason why frog's heart continue to beat even after death.

. Frogs heart when taken out of the body continues to beat for sometime , because heart is ' myogenic ' in nature , heart is auto excitable .
