When the ballon is made of elastic material, it expands because of the excess pressure inside. Its volume increases and its internal pressure decreases. ... A weightless balloon which neither expands nor shrinks will reach a height of about sixteen kilometres if it is filled with helium.

after reaching a certain height d pressure of d gas inside the balloon bcomes higher or larger than than the pressure outside the balloon......so the pressure inside it tries 2 come out and as a result it bursts
