Ok , Let's assume that heterolytic fission is possible in non-polar solvent at high temperature .

A-B undergoes heterolytic fission , to form A+ and B− . Since Non-Polar has very low Dielectric constant (Dielectric constant signifies the ability to weaken the electrostatic forces between charges ) ,

therefore A+ and B− will attract each other . Since force between them is not weaken by the non-polar solvent .

So in this case , molecule undergoes heterolytic fission they will form bond more rapidly as compare to if they undergoes homolytic fission .so Charges die rapidly in non-polar solvents .

there is another factor , which is solvation . In polar solvents, the enthalpy of solvation increases the ease of the formation of charges , by stablizing the formed charges .

But in case of non-polar solvents the solvation is very poor . so they can't stabilize charges.
