Answer:
A sintered glass crucible is thus used to mainly to filter solutions and mixtures when the residue is desired and when minimal residue is sought in the filtrate. ... It is also used in place of filter paper as it can be less porous and is reusable, thus making it cheaper

HF cannot be filtered through sintered glass crucibles.
- Hydrogen fluoride is a chemical compound that contains fluorine.
- It can exist as a colorless gas or as a fuming liquid, or it can be dissolved in water.
- Sintered glass crucible is a filtration device that is made of Pyrex glass. Pyrex glass is an excellent resistant glass type.
- It is fitted with sintered ground glass and a filter disc at a small distance above the lower end. Generally, this device is useful in directly collecting a precipitate that requires drying.
- HF rapidly reacts with silica and glass to form soluble salt and that process leads to breaking the glass bottles. Hence HF can not be stored in glass bottles.
