why hills are cooler then plains

because when we go up, the temperature falls due to change in altitude but in plains, there is no change in temperature. this hills are cooler than plains.

there is a decrease of 1°C for every 166m rise in height, because temperature decreases as we move to higher altitudes. so, hills are cooler than plains.
