The Himalayan Rivers originate from the ice-glaciers in the high mountain regions of the North India.
The glaciers acts as a major sources of water in the Himalayan Rivers.
The water remains throughout the year and they are perennial in nature.
Examples : Ganga river, Brahmaputra river
----------------
The Peninsular Rivers are non-perennial in nature.
The monsoon rains acts as a major source of water for the peninsular rivers.
And, we know that monsoons are highly unpredictable so,
These rivers have heavy flow during the rainy season and reduced flow during the dry season.
Example : Godavari, Kaveri, Krishna .... Etc
