Why history is the most difficult subject among geography and civics?

I've always found history the easiest and most interesting subject. I don't understand why people find it hard. To me not liking history it is the same as not being shocked to know that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's dad.
It may have helped that everyone in my family got into heated political discussions over dinner while I was growing up. So I guess I picked up that politics was something important, and payed attention to whatever helped making sense of it. There's no understanding politics without studying history.
Maybe I find it easy because I am interested in learning it. It has meaning to me. Otherwise it would be like math. I never saw the point of math as a schoolboy, so I tried to memorise it just to pass the exams. It failed.
