Why hno3 does not release h2 gas with metals?

Answer:

the hydrogen gas is released during the reaction of metal and nitric acid but as the nitric acid is a strong oxidizing agent thus it leads to the oxidation of hydrogen gas to water.

Thus due to this the water is produced in place of hydrogen gas
