why hormonal responses are slower than reflex actions ?

hormonal system is made up of a number of glands throughout the body and the process takes longer than the action of muscles

Its because they travel through the body from the site of their ejection to the site of their termination or to get used up.. whereas the reflex action don't involve such movement of fluids and other material, it's due to impulse in the spinal cord which is way faster than the hormonal responses
