Immersion diuresis is a recognised effect and is caused by an increase in blood pressure due to the hydrostatic pressure of the water. The effect is greater in cold water which causes vasoconstriction of the cutaneous blood vessels in an attempt to conserve heat and a further increase in blood pressure.hope this helps
